Hi, I’m Dylan Hemmens — the builder behind Hemmens Building.
I started in the construction industry as an apprentice carpenter and worked my way up to a leading hand for a reputable local builder, focusing on custom architectural homes. After gaining hands-on experience, I launched my own carpentry business, subcontracting to other respected builders and taking on decking, pergolas, and smaller renovations for private clients.
To qualify for my builder’s license, I stepped into a supervisory role with a large-scale residential builder, managing multi-residential developments. Over four years, I worked my way from finishing foreman to lead site supervisor — gaining invaluable experience in scheduling, standards compliance, people management, and problem-solving on complex builds. During this time, I led projects ranging from 12-unit townhouse developments through to 96-unit apartment complexes.
But through all of that, I discovered what I loved most: building beautiful homes for the right people. That’s why I started Hemmens Building in 2022 — to work closely with clients who value quality, communication, and a collaborative process. Since then, we’ve delivered some incredible homes for our clients — and maybe yours could be next.
